Teaching
After years working in higher ed in a professional capacity, I remember when my undergraduate advisor asked me why I wanted to go to graduate school. "Because I want to teach!" I answered, somewhat naive to the hierarchies of higher ed. More than 15 years later, my focus on teaching has taken me through a landscape of teaching professional development, numerous undergraduate courses, and teaching my own course on teaching. I am an award-winning teacher who has taught more than 10 courses (21 sections and counting) and a higher ed teaching consultant who supports clients in developing an effective and inclusive teaching practice.
Below are some of the courses I have taught at the University of Minnesota, Farmingdale State College (SUNY), and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, as well as pedagogy-focused workshops I have offered. Please do reach out to me to request syllabi, my teaching portfolio, or to talk more about my teaching craft.
